New dramatic case of need in Elefsina: Lino
His story has been told on the homepage of the pet obedience school “Die-Mensch-mit-Hund-Schule”. Due to the fact Lino hovers between life and death, if he doesn’t find a final home. And that is why we would also like to publish his story (we thank the pet obedience school “Die-Mensch-mit-Hund-Schule” for the admission of taking over the story), to rise the chance of a soon procurement:
“This is Lino. Lino once has been a beautiful and proud dog which has lived in an Athenian suburb on the street. He had been fed by an Italian animal welfare activist. Then he disappeared for about three months. When he came back, his skin was corroded. He looked ugly, ill and unappetizing. As unappetizing as the residents wanted to shoot him.
Ria Pantali, an animal rights activist from Elefsina, saved him from this destiny and adopted him. She brought him to the veterinary, who wanted to euthanize the dog without any tests or final diagnosis in advance. Ria did not allow that. She demanded the procedure of appropriate diagnostic measures.
It came out that Lino felt sick because of acarodermitis and had a low leishmaniasis-titer. Now he gets the needed medicine. Ria paid this and the costs for veterinary on her own. And the therapy had been successful: Lino will soon become the proud and beautiful dog he once had been.
Due to the fact that Lino cannot live on the street as long as this physical condition lasts, Ria accommodated him in a boarding kennels. The costs of the accommodation amounted to 5,00 € per day. After a month the budget of Ria had been blown up. That is why she had to accommodate him in a abandoned house, where he was partially save, as long as no one finds him. She dedicatively cared about him, but Lino, who is actually very aqcainted, passes his days nearly without any human contact.
Ria want a careful home for Lino, where he can forget all the agony of his entire life and where he can be just a happy dog. She wants a place for him, where he can run, play and bluster and he is not in permanent danger to be knocked over, slayed, shot, poisoned or hanged off on the next tree.
Lino is very aquainted and he agrees with other dogs of both gender very well. He should pass his further life as a well sheltered family dog and shall not pass it in the streets of Greece. He really deserves it!
You also can help with a donation to improve Linos life until he has been placed. With a donation, Ria could bring Lino back to the boarding kennels where he would be safe and could recover.”
