the first successes for Vyborg
Some time ago, we reported about the state of emergency of the animal shelter Dogshope in Vyborg / Russia. Mrs. Gudrun Ostwaldt and the head of the shelter Irina Subbotkina had been despaired and at a loss. Their call for help had shocked us. And as we now could find out, it shocked not only us.
There, everything was missing and the fear of the upcoming winter was huge. Actually there was just the choice between freezing to death or dying of hunger. These have been no auroral expectations and you could feel the desperation in every word.
But in fact the pleasance and relief were huge. They could experience that there are people who appreciate their work and dedication. And they received donations.
The buying of food was not the only possible thing now. But now, important building measures could be carried though.
At this point, Mrs. Subbotkina and Mrs. Ostwaldt would like to thank you personally for your fast help.
Mrs. Subbotkina (translated into German by her friend and interpreter Natalia; translated into englisch by Kristin Schickel):
Natascha my darling!
I send you the first pictures of the kitchen including drainage we just built. There we cook mash. The costs amounted to 75 trub. But fortunately we built a lot of other things. We spent 45 trub for aviaries and barracks. On 17th of November, the metal doors were assembled, because it is unbelievable cold here. We also built a new fence. I will send you all the invoices. Natascha, today I sat here and remembered when I called you. I was crying and I told you that I don’t wanna live any longer, because I did not have had any feed for the dogs. Can you imagine that this happened in September? And now, after your and Gudruns arrival, see how it now looks like! I can tell you, I again cry. I don’t know what I’ve done without you and Gudrun!!!
You know me, I’m stupid when I have to run a computer. The same with Public Relations. But I really have to ask you to relay my gratefulness to my beloved Gudrun and all other donators. I love them all. They rescued us from coldness, hunger and death. I could kiss the ground, where these people walked.
They are not comparable with the idiots here, who permanently try to betray me on the building lot. I already spend the nights here, because I’m afraid they would steal something.
And please tell Gudrun that I am a fatalist. I believe in destiny and I am sure that because I did not harm anyone in my whole life, God sent me Gudrun. Every day I pray that she keeps well and fit for me and my dogs! I worry about her!
I love you so much and I hope to see you again soon, you Irina.
Dear animal lovers and lovely supporters of the Russian dogs in Vyborg,
I would like to thank you so much for the big solidarity with the shelter DOGSHOPE in Vyborg.
Thanks to your great help we now can build larger and more beautiful accommodations for the dogs.
As soon as the accommodations are finished, we will publish the pictures. And with huge pleasance I can announce that here: with the promise of the EUROPAEISCHEN TIER- UND NATURSCHUTZ e. V. in Much, we are able to ease the immense need of feed. They granted us financial support.
The first delivery of feed is documented with pictures.
This commitment for DOGSHOPE makes us so happy.
But regardless of this pleasant and positive development, there is still a long way to go, until DOGSHOPE is finished and in a good condition to accommodate about 300 dogs.
New windows and doors have to be installed. A new heater has to be installed and the electrical connection is still missing.
Maybe we can find some kind donators, because the winter already arrived in Russia and we really like to install the heater.
We need about 1,500.00 € for a current generator.
I would really like to thank all donators, who made it possible that our dogs have a roof above their heads. That they finally got a kitchen for the feed and that we could buy a drainage and new windows and doors for their accommodation.
We need godparents, who would like to donate a fixed monthly amount that we can pay for the veterinary.
We also would appreciate small donations.
The veterinary costs 300.00 € per month. This includes vaccinating, chipping, preparing of departure documents and passports and the medical care of the animals.
I hope and ask for further solidarity for the forgotten dogs of Vyborg, St. Petersburg and Moscow!
Thank you very much. Yours faithfully,

Annotation by the Pfotenhilfe Europa:
We are eased, too, that the danger of hunger and freezing for the animals in DOGSHOPE has been banned for now. But to offer a durable and better life for the animals, a continuous support is required.
