Public petition in the Bundestag: „puppy-trading – no thanks!“
Dear animal friends,
the three animal rights organizations Bund gegen Tiermissbrauch (union against abuse to animals - bmt), Europaeischer Tier- und Naturschutz e. V. (European organization for the protection of animals and nature – ETN) and TASSO e. V. now ask for a prohibition with the trading of so called “rummage table puppies”.
In line with a area-wide campaign called “rummage table puppies – no thanks”, they filed an online petition against the dubious and profit-oriented trade with dog puppies to the Bundestag.
As trading counts the buying and selling of dogs with the aim of profit maximization. Reliable breeders are not affected by this petition.
Until 25th of November, 50,000 signatures are required. When 50,000 signatures are collected, the Committee on Petitions in the Bundestag will listen to the request.
This is a historical chance to stop the inexpressibly agony of dog puppies and to put a stop to the producers game!
So the three animal rights organizations ask all animal friends, to sign the resolution, even if the register process takes a bit of time on the website of the Bundestag.
The target should be that a dog is no longer treated as a good. By now, the unconscionable business with dog trading reaches margins like the smuggling of drugs or cigarettes.
Approximately 500,000 dog puppies are transported to Germany every year. Via newspaper announcements and especially on the internet, they are offered to trustful buyers at dumping prices. They are also offered in cardboard boxes, out of the luggage space of cars, on parking areas, gas stations or on farmer’s markets. The puppies from Easter Europe are offered at bargain prices. Usually the puppies are just a few weeks old, separated from their mum way to early, nearly starved, often sick and without necessary vaccinations.
Please sign together with all other animal friends this resolution until 25th of November.
Please spread the word about this petition in all current social media networks and forums.
Every dog we can rescue this way is it worth it.
