Forest fires in Russia. We ask for help!
Dear animal friends,
today we have got an information from Hundehilfe-Russland e.V., which we want to publish here.
The reports about the forest fires in Russia and the horrible consequences were in all media during the last days- but as so often the animals have been forgotten to mention.
Dear friends of Hundehilfe-Russland e.V.,
I apply to you, because the situation in Moscow is much worse, than it could be heard and seen in our local media.
The animal shelters are situated at the borders of the huge city of Moscow and they are endangered by the fire, acutely. Friday the flames were only one hundred meters away from the gates of a public animal shelter.
650 dogs, 400 cats, apes, bears etc. are living there. The manager of the shelter tried to find help to turn-off the fire, but we do not know, if he could manage it. The animals in the streets and in the shelters in Moscow do suffer under the life-threatening smoke, as the people do, too.
Many old people, who feed the street dogs, will not be able to do this anymore. I could continue this for hours...
A big part of the harvest was destroyed, that means that the buckwheat will increase in price enormously. How shall we feed the dogs? What will happen during the winter, if we will not have enough money for food. We need donations for outward voyage, too. But at the moment there are only a few plains landing and starting in Moscow. We are in a dilemma without comparison.
We are afraid, that many animals in the shelters and in the streets will not survive this catastrophe.
Please help the poor animals, every Euro counts!
You will find our bank account on our homepage www.hundehilfe-russland.de
We say thank you in the name of the animals and our Russian partners, who have not an easy life at the moment.
Gudrun Ostwaldt and the team of Hundehilfe-Russland e.V.
Thank you very much for you help!
