Dear animal friends,

the time of the Hubertus mass has begun!

On 6th of November 2010 at 5pm, the Hubertus mass in Mayence will take place. On the occasion of this mass, pro jure animalis organizes a solemn vigil and invite all people to this solemn vigil, who want to show their protest against the ritual of the Hubertus mass.

Predominantly the Catholic Church issues its blessing to the riflemen for their action and act: The Hubertus mass is yearly hold in honor of God and in memory of the Holy Hubertus from Luettich on 3rd of November.
According to the lore, Hubertus had been an impassioned and excessively rifleman, who saw the killing of the game as ends in themselves, when he was a young nobleman. Later Hubertus recognized that all creatures are creatures of divine and God itself and then fostered and cared about them.

During the Hubertus mass, the priests pray of the protection of the Creation, the responsibility of humans to the nature and hundreds of riflemen and their family and friends listen to those words.

The deer, presented in front of the Lord’s table on the occasion of these masses, cannot listen to these words anymore. Because they are dead! Shot, killed for an awful ritual!

Please protest against this abhorrent tradition on 6th of November 2010 in front of the dome of Mayence.
From 12pm pro jure animalis and friendly organizations (e. g. Natur ohne Jagd e. V., Partei Mensch, Umwelt, Tierschutz) will inform with information desks about the topics shoot, animal rights and animal protection in Mayence. The location of the information desks will be in front of the Alte Universitaet / Alte Universitaetsstrasse, near to the Dome.
