the donations reach Viktor
It is made!
Beginning of February, we and other chummy animal rights organizations and private animal helpers started big appeal for Viktor and his dogs. The response of the appeal was overwhelming. We got plenty of packages from Germany and even Austria and Switzerland people helped us.
The packages piled up, in our collecting point in Dusseldorf.
A lot of donators were not shy of driving approach and brought the donations personally. The encouragement and support for this activity was sensational. Lots of people wanted to help Viktor and his wife. The both live in Latvia and there they manage everything on their own without help and fight for the dogs.
The loading of the donations
On Friday, the 26 of February the day had come and the carrier ranged our door bell. Now we had to sort things out. We carried a lot, we perspired but at the end, all helpers agreed: the effort was worth it. Now all the donations could start their long journey to Latvia.
We loaded: 106 packages with in total 600 kg of feed, blankets, hand towels and bedding, vitamins, toiletries and dog bowls, furthermore dog pullovers, warm clothing and housekeeping products, but also medicine, provisions and a lot of toys, dog baskets and dog beds, and even carpets and two dog houses.

What were we shivering. The whole helping network wishfully waited for news from Viktor. And the day came: On Thursday, the transport finally arrived in Latvia – save and sound.
Unfortunately, the truck could not reach Viktors house directly because of the wintry weather. Because of the masses of snow, the unloading was hindered. But all these adversities could not stop Viktors delight about all the donations.
Now he won some weeks and don’t have to worry for a while how he can supply his dogs. This is a relief for the already hard life in Latvia.
